Ms. Mansfield is an author, pioneer in harm reduction programming and development in Canada, and a former sex survival worker. She has lectured at universities and colleges where her first book, Danced in my Brain, was used as required reading for social work and women’s studies courses. Her early activism began in 1989 in AIDS education and harm reduction program development, and she has presented at numerous national and international conferences on a variety of topics. Since 1989, Ms. Mansfield has founded and developed several successful outreach programs that continue to serve marginalized peoples. She continues to be a passionate advocate for women working in survival sex, and an educator on sexual exploitation and trafficked persons.
