Janet Smolders

Janet Smolders is a retired land use and environmental planner who worked in consulting for many years. She was the co-author of CMHC’s Practises for Sustainable Communities (2000), considered a ground-breaking work at the time. Janet divides her time between London, Ontario, and the Town of the Bllue Mountains, where she enjoys skiing, hiking, and the outdoors with family and friends. The mother of two grown children (a high school teacher and a jewellery designer), she looks forward to being a granny.
