Inspired by stories of similar projects and missing reading with youngsters at the local school due to the shutdown in 2020, Sue began the Calabogie Wee Folk Project. With the help of a few friends and kind craftsmen, she installed Fairy, Gnome, and Elf doors at local businesses to encourage local shopping. After getting permission from the mayor and council, the group began installations in a small wooded area they named the Enchanted Woods.
A retired registered nurse, educator, and seminar leader, Sue loves helping people understand their own strengths and sharing her compassion and joy in life.
As she wanders through the Enchanted Woods, the moments of seeing the wonder of children and adults transform an ordinary walk into magic are precious to Sue. This book is a way to share those moments with everyone, even if Calabogie Enchanted Woods is far away.
