“Mr. Sanders,” Jenny focused on the man’s bloated face. “I might remind you that it takes two to get a girl pregnant. It’s unfair for a girl’s life to be ruined while the boy is able to continue his education and his life with no repercussions. A baby is a gift and I intend to help every young mother see her child in that light.”

Jenny believes that if you put opportunity in front of young pregnant girls, at least some will grab it and fly. She did when her grandmother gave her the same opportunity.

The Big House that she inherited has been renovated to provide a home for eight pregnant teens and herself and her young son. The rules are simple: help each other; accept guidance from Jenny and Bernice, the cook-housekeeper who came with the house; go to school; abstain from drugs and alcohol; look after their babies; cause no trouble.

After rejection by parents and boyfriends, the girls realize this is the way to avoid living on welfare for the rest of their lives. They have already decided to keep their babies and want to prove to their parents that they can be good mothers and get an education.

“I see a need that has to be filled. I’m not personally ambitious. I am determined for this to succeed. That is my ambition.”

This is the story of how one strong young woman uses her wealth to give hope to those who have none.
