Donna Metcalfe
Donna Metcalfe was raised on a farm in Ramsay Township, Lanark County. It was a world of woodstoves, kitchen gardens, and horses. There, she learned to value her heritage and tell a good story, listening at the knees of older folks. She attended the one-room 6 & 7 schoolhouse on the Clayton Road, then on to Almonte and District High School and Carleton University. She was a stay-at-home mom and worked at several jobs until retiring in 2015. She then fulfilled her life-long amibition to write.
