l.h dusseault
Born in Alberta and adopted at the age of four, l.h dusseault spent much of his childhood being shuffled from one boarding school to another. By age twelve, he had spent nine years in institutions. Roaming much of the country he has lived in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. He has worked as a construction labourer, a ranch hand, a welder, a miner, a forklift operator, a psychiatric ward attendant, a real estate agent, and for three months trying not to be a sailor. He eventually found his purpose in life working with developmentally handicapped adults, which has been his vocation for over forty-nine years. l.h dusseault considers his writing to be part of historical observation and part personal reflection. Although his poetry has received recognition and acclaim through competitions and publications in newspapers and magazines, Sting of the Fisherman is his first published collection.
l.h dusseault lives in rural Ontario with his partner Maggie, and is a proud father of two sons.
