Wayne Campbell began as a biochemist but spent most of his career as a science writer, first as a journalist (Globe & Mail, Maclean’s, New Scientist), then as an editor/writer for Canadian universities, research hospitals and government. His literary heroes are Shakespeare and Aeschylus, his artistic heroes Tom Thomson and J.M.W. Turner. When not working on his next book, which brings Tom Thomson together with François Paradis in the Quebec wilderness, he is a carpenter, cyclist, white-water canoer, traveler. He has two daughters (both writers), a stepson (a snowboard champion) and lives semi-retired in Ottawa with his true love.
