Caroline Balderston Parry
Caroline Parry grew up in Quaker Pennsylvania loving libraries and books, thanks to her grandmother who was also her kindergarten teacher! She studied History and Literature at Harvard, and married an Englishman while volunteering in India. The Parrys emigrated to Canada in 1973, welcomed two children, and traveled often. As a freelance teacher, writer, folksinger and storyteller, Caroline published both poetry and nonfiction, notably the award-winning books for young people, Let’s Celebrate! (1987) and Eleanora’s Diary (1994). She worked as the Director of Religious Education for three Unitarian Universalist congregations, became a labyrinth facilitator and compiled an adult spiritual memoir/nature journal, The Heron Spirals, A Commonplace Book (2013). Caroline Balderston Parry lives in Ottawa, where she celebrates friends, family and her garden, often creates collage art, and thinks she needs a cat!
